EXPLANATION
The project comprises Basmane – Aliağa and Alsancak-Cumaovası lines. The lines are double tracks and the length of the total line is 81 km' s. The project scope is given as: 18 stations, 7 transfer stations, 11 under and over bridges, 2 tunnels, 3 workshops and depot areas and as well as supplying the necessary vehicles. Intercity trains shall also be operated with the commuter trains on these lines.
The system is operated by İZBAN, which is a joint company of TCDD and İzmir Greater Municipality.
